Facilities
Blue Zones Nicoya has its production facilities in the rural region of San José – Pinilla, in Guanacaste. We generate direct and indirect jobs to the community. Additionally, we work hand in hand with small farmers in the area, supporting them in the development of their crops and generating steady income through our medium and long-term acquisitions.
Macaw Project Blue Zones
The loss of habitat and the illegal extraction of eggs and chicks to be sold for pet trade in black markets, reduced the Scarlet Macaw populations almost to extinction. Our project is to support the conservation of the Scarlet Macaw, through the establishment of a reintroduction program for the species in the northern part of the Nicoya Peninsula. The project consists in a reproduction program, training and releasing, reforestation for food and protection, monitoring and environmental education.
Wildlife must remain in its natural habitat and conditions. Photos taken in Costa Rica encourage respect and conservation of wild fauna and flora.
Los Centenarios
Los Centenarios Coffee comes from the mountains of Nicoya – Guanacaste in Costa Rica; the largest Blue Zone in the world. This region is characterized by the longevity, charisma and happiness of its inhabitants.
Our coffee contains high amounts of longevity molecules: kahweol and cafestol which are known for their anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
5% of the sales are donated to help support Costarican centenaries through the Península de Nicoya Zona Azul Association.
